Ben and Hannah’s Homemade Wedding

I’m a little behind on my real wedding blogs and my first booking for 2020 is now just around the corner.  So come along Fan!

Back in May last year I presented my first ceremony at Bickham Barn in Kenn for Hannah and Ben.  Like so many other couples they wanted a venue that would allow them to use their creativity to personalise it completely.    Their dream was a tropical themed wedding and Bickham Barn provided them with the blank canvas they wanted so that they could make their vision a reality.   Everything was homemade.  Hannah had worked tirelessly. What an awesome job they did.  Every aspect was personalised down to the smallest detail.   And so of course the ceremony needed to be too.  The only way to achieve that is to have a celebrant led ceremony and I was thrilled that they contacted me.

Both had incredibly busy schedules but we managed to meet twice.  I learned all about them and what they wanted their ceremony to be like.  Personal was the recurring word.  And so together we created a ceremony that reflected their story.  It was absolutely personal as was the intimate handfasting we included.  The beautiful very bright coloured ribbons were made by the bride and represented the colourful life the couple intend living and sharing together.

At the conclusion of the ceremony Ben and Hannah had a magical confetti shower and with the arrival of the fabulous Samba band Streetheat the tone was set for what I know would have been a fantastic party.
