I love travelling about the countryside and will go literally anywhere if I’m asked to! However there are certain very obvious advantages for a local wedding.
When I met with Abbie and Luke to discuss the detail of their script it became very apparent that they both had an incredible bond with their mothers. Rarely are there occasions when one can publicly express one’s love and thanks to a parent, but a celebrant ceremony provides just that opportunity.
When I tell people what I do for a living. Nine times out of ten they are intrigued. The conversation follows a very similar pattern. We go through what a celebrant is. And then almost without fail I’m asked, ‘what do you wear’? My staple answer is a nice dress and to make sure I never upstage the bride or groom’s mother!
So as summer draws to a close and autumn is beckoning as a part of our new regular Fanfare Favourites blog I thought I’d focus on some sunny elements.
My first wedding of the year was at Rockbeare Manor for Sam and Helena. What a couple they are! They met at university, became best friends and are now blissfully happy as husband and wife. Their love for one another is so clearly captured in these beautiful images taken by Tom Frost Photography.
As a wedding celebrant I am always being asked whether I know any good readings. As a massive music lover my first source of inspiration is always lyrics of songs. I love music but sometimes the lyrics of a song with a little artistic license can be adapted quite brilliantly into readings or vows.
Hello and welcome to my brand new monthly feature – Fanfare Favourites. I spend an inordinate amount of time trawling the internet for inspiration and ideas and I absolutely love to see how the bridal industry is evolving and how clever suppliers and creative couples are uniting to come up with some truly incredible weddings.
Following on from my festival wedding post last week, and with so many more music/food/arts festivals coming up this year (see here for a comprehensive list), I thought I would jump on the inspiration band wagon and share some of my faves from my Pinterest boards. I’ve created a new festival one so you can pop over and see it in full if you fancy.
I recently shared a post on Facebook about a couple who met at Glastonbury who then had their wedding ceremony there this year. What a brilliant idea and of course a celebrant-led ceremony could be held at any festival that you particularly love because no license is required.
