Fanfare Favourites – July
Hello and welcome to my brand new monthly feature – Fanfare Favourites. I spend an inordinate amount of time trawling the internet for inspiration and ideas and I absolutely love to see how the bridal industry is evolving and how clever suppliers and creative couples are uniting to come up with some truly incredible weddings.
Here are just a few of my favourites from the past month. I’m also going to feature one of my own ceremonies, a venue of the month and any other suppliers that I have had the pleasure of meeting who I think you will like too.
May I recommend a comfy seat and a beverage of choice while you amble your way through this little lot…
First up, this colourful, floral wedding as featured on Green Wedding Shoes. I just love how unique this is, from the ceremonial backdrop to the tattoo artist on hand to give guests a permanent reminder of the amazing day.
“We tried to incorporate a lot of personal details that reflected our interests. We both love tattoos so we had a tattoo artist there giving tattoos to guests! We also had my mom’s art incorporated into the invitations and menus. Our signature cocktails were named after our dogs and we had an artist draw their portraits for the drink menu. We didn’t want it to feel like a traditional wedding”

Side note, those of you who have followed me for a while will know of my infatuation with a folding chair. And the ones above do not disappoint!
This reading by Jane Eyre spoken by Mr Rochester. I love it because it talks of marriage, not just love.
“I have for the first time, found what I can truly love, I have found you. You are my sympathy, my better self, my good angel. I am bound to you with a strong attachment. I think you good, gifted, lovely. A fervent. A solemn passion is conceived in my heart. It leans to you, draws you to my centre and spring of life, wraps my existence about you and kindling in pure, powerful flame, fuses you and me in one. It was because I felt and knew this, that I resolved to marry you.”
The beautiful couple that is Jooles and Katie will be featured on the blog soon. I just wanted to put up a couple of photos on this round up to show their stunning gowns and massive smiles.
DIY is King in this lovely wedding featured on Boho Weddings. In the words of the bride… “We bought 30 cardboard stars which we painstakingly sprayed different shades of gold and copper. We made 100 meters of bunting, crochet wooden hoops, signage and I was able to use work resources to create lots of extras like laser cut name cards. I decided to use old brass and copper vessels and candle holders to decorate the venue so to make a saving we spent a year finding them at car boots and in charity shops.”

Finally for now, I’m really looking forward to going back to The Barn at South Milton later this year. It has all the rustic charm you would expect of a barn, but with all the modern adaptations for the perfect wedding venue. It also has views to die for across the rolling countryside and out to sea.
Well, that’s it for this time. I hope you have enjoyed looking through some of my faves from the wonderful world of weddings. If there’s a supplier or venue or wedding you’ve spotted that you would like to see on here, feel free to get in touch. Until next time.
