Who Runs The World? Girls!
When I meet my couples, I always suggest that we include a shout out to their friends. Nine times out of 10 the bride has her besties as her bridesmaids and/or maids of honour. The groom of course will have his best man and groomsmen/ushers. I’ll save the boys for another day but today I want to talk about the girls.
I am blessed with many many amazing girlfriends who have helped me, supported me, laughed with me, and at me, all my life. I treasure my relationship with all of them. Indeed, only last week I spent a few days with one of my very best. We have known one another since we were three. We don’t see each other as often as we would like these days, but every year we spend a week together at the end of September. It is sacrosanct and one of my most precious. We literally talk all week. About our families, our lives, our businesses, about lots of rubbish just EVERYTHING! and of course, laugh a lot. Nothing ever changes. We just love one another pure and simple. There is a special joy and warmth in the hug when we greet one another when we first meet up and a poignancy in the one when we separate at the end of our week, followed by that weird sudden feeling of emptiness when you have spent literally every minute of the day with someone so precious.
Your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life and a celebration. So, I feel strongly that if a bride has a unique relationship with either a group of friends or just one special one it is an ideal opportunity to acknowledge that bond, thank them for their love, support and laughter over the years. After all the day wouldn’t be the same without them by your side.
I have never really had an occasion to do that to my friends. So, I’m dedicating this blog to ALL of them. Thank you for always being there for me. And I’m also take this opportunity to plug the business of the special friend I mention above. If you ever need some amazing SCENTED roses you will find no better than at The Real Flower Company.
