What style of ceremony?

My personalised wedding ceremony will be filled with moments of light, happiness and laughter for you. Having been married in church myself, they lean towards the traditional but with a contemporary twist.

They are fun and fresh.
Formal without the formality.
Sentimental but not cheesy.
They are relaxed but stylish.

Your unique story

The main ingredient needed to create an awesome personalised wedding  ceremony is your unique story. The better I know you the easier it will be to create a ceremony that reflects your unique style.

We will therefore work closely together. I will send you a questionnaire to complete and I will encourage face to face meetings so as to build our relationship and also closely watch the interaction between you. From this I will design your own biography which will form the foundation of your bespoke personalised wedding ceremony.

We can also include religious and/or non religious content and even a symbolic mini ceremony such as a hand fasting. I will provide advice on writing your vows or if you prefer you can adapt or use the more familiar generic ones.

My promise to you

That I will be committed to you from the moment I am appointed to the moment I utter the immortal words ‘You may kiss the bride (or groom).”

I will ensure that the entire process is enjoyable and stress free always being available by email, phone or video calls to help or put your mind at ease about anything.

You can have access to all my resources of sample vows, readings, poems that I have collected over the years.

I will liaise with the venue, suppliers and other key people involved and will attend a rehearsal if required.

On the day I will arrive early, I will introduce myself to your guests and do anything that I can to be last minute help. I will present your personalised wedding ceremony with professionalism, vibrancy and personality.

At the end I will slip away quietly leaving a copy of your bespoke script as a keepsake of your special day.

So if you are looking for a fun loving, charismatic celebrant that radiates style with a smile, I’d love to hear from you.

Nikki & Steve 4th May 2019, Sutton Barton, Axminster, Devon

Where to begin? Fan made our day exactly how we wanted it; laid back, funny and most importantly personal. Everyone said how amazing you were and how it was so different but one of the best ceremonies, and they could hear you at the back! You helped make our day so perfect! Will recommend you til the cows come home.

Dan & Juliet 28th May 2019, Huntsham Court, Devon

We would like to extend our thanks and gratitude for your role in making our wedding day so special. The ceremony was beautiful and it is a day that we will always remember.

Bex & Gavin, 17th March 2017, Huntsham Court

From our first meeting, to a boozy wine bar second catch up, to Huntsham meets and the day itself, Gavin and I were thrilled to have met Fan, and have her conduct our ceremony. The fun, love and emotion she helped create made it spectacular. We miss her already but glad to have made a friend for life and, of course, memories of our ceremony which will remain with us for life. A huge warm thank you Fan! You were fabulous!

FAQ's

How personal can you make our wedding?

As personal as you wish. I am guided by you and there are really no limits. A personalised wedding ceremony, that reflects you and your love is very special.

Is an independent celebrant the same as a humanist celebrant?

No, but often people do get confused between us. I am independent celebrant meaning, I can weave modern, alternative, religious content or faith beliefs into my ceremonies. These can include symbolic cultural rituals, blessings, or religious prayer/hymns.

Will we get to meet you before the ceremony?

Absolutely. Where possible I always like to meet face to face, however sometimes this isn’t possible when working with couples all over the world. But it’s really important for us all to get to know one another as well as possible.

How long does a ceremony last?

Typically a personalised wedding ceremony takes between 30 and 40 minutes, but a lot depends on what you have chosen to include ie how many readings and musical interludes.

Can I have a ceremony at any time?

Your ceremony can be at any time, on any day of the week. Generally speaking I only do one ceremony a day.

How does the process work to write a personalised wedding ceremony?

Months before the big day I’ll send you a questionnaire for you both to complete. You send the answers back to me and then we arrange to meet again. This meeting is important, what we talk about and all of the stories and background you give me will form the backbone of your wedding script. I then go away and write your script. The draft is then passed back and forth until we are all entirely happy.

Can we write our own vows?

Oh yes. Writing your own vows comes straight from the heart, and nothing can capture how you feel about one another more than you. I don’t write them for you, it’s way too personal a thing, but I will give you as much guidance as you want.
