    FRIENDSHIPS 🩵 Continuing with my renewed focus f FRIENDSHIPS 🩵 Continuing with my renewed focus for this year, I recently had a “soul brand” interview with the wonderful @venetianorringtonbranding, who has captured every one of my brand photography shoots to date. It was a quite a cathartic process and made made me pause and reflect on myself, why I do this job and more importantly, who and what truly matters to me. Interestingly, when I found myself talking about my friendships and just how important they are in my life, my voice actually wobbled. It caught me slightly off guard. But perhaps that’s the point we don’t always give ourselves the space to properly acknowledge these things. It felt like a gentle reminder that taking time to reflect every now and then is no bad thing at all. 🩵 And in that moment of reflection, I realised why friendships always play a part in the ceremonies I create. Because my own friendships mean so much to me, I instinctively want to honour the relationships that have shaped my couples’ lives too. The laughter, the shared history, the support networks all of it deserves its place in the ceremony. It’s how I bring the same sense of love, connection, and care that I value so deeply in my own life into someone else’s most important day. @yoursoulbrandinterview @venetianorrington

Particularly in the case of registrar-led ceremonies. Religious wedding ceremony scripts, while they follow established structures, often bring more natural variation through tradition, denomination, and the person leading them. But civil ceremonies bound by council frameworks, can feel strikingly similar. The same phrases. The same structure. The same “insert couple here” moments dressed up as something meaningful.     S P R I N G 🩵 Spring is the busiest time for me a S P R I N G 🩵 Spring is the busiest time for me as a celebrant. It’s when I meet all my clients whose weddings are being held in the summer. I often meet locally but also travel to London as many of them are based there. I spend a minimum of 2 hours with each couple. Listening to their story and generally getting to know them. Equally them me. Some are nervous, some are excited, some find it difficult, some just love having the opportunity of talking about their happiness and lives. Without exception they all leave filled with anticipation for a glimpse of the first edit of their script. Those hours we spend together are crucial and unique in your wedding planning. Rarely with another wedding supplier will you give so much of yourselves away and share so much information. Of course, you want to ‘like’ all your wedding suppliers but however tame it may sound, it is more important than ever that to get it right when you you choose your celebrant.
